The Hybrid Half Mary Challenge combines a structured running program with strength and circuit training to prepare participants for a half marathon. It spans six weeks, including a tapering week before the race, and integrates diverse training styles.
<ul> <li>• <b>Running Plan:</b> Weekly schedules with mileage, easy runs, and interval training.</li> <li>• <b>Strength & Circuit Training:</b> Focused workouts targeting both upper and lower body to build endurance and prevent injuries.</li> <li>• <b>Taper Week Guidance:</b> A lighter week to ensure participants are rested for race day.</li> </ul>
RAWDAWG Rub Club is a dynamic and community-driven run club co-founded by Noah Rolette, Ian Fonville, Darren Belasa, and Tin Nguyen. Their mission is to change the perception of running, emphasizing community, joy, and personal growth rather than viewing running as a punishment or solely for weight loss. The club is known for its inclusive approach, offering free group runs, snacks, and drinks to participants, supported by brand collaborations. Each founder brings a unique personality and style, shaping RAWDAWG as a collective that promotes both physical and mental endurance.
SweatPals is a social fitness app designed to connect you with fitness communities, events, and like-minded people. Whether you’re looking to host your own events or discover new workout groups, join running clubs, pickleball games or try unique wellness events, SweatPals helps you find it all in one place.
This challenge is open to runners of most levels, from beginners seeking structured guidance to seasoned runners aiming to enhance performance. It’s perfect for: <ul> <li>• <b>Running Experience:</b> Those comfortable running short distances (e.g., 3 miles) and ready to gradually build toward longer runs.</li> <li>• <b>Equipment Access:</b> Participants will need access to a gym with basic equipment such as kettlebells, dumbbells, and a pull-up bar to complete the strength and circuit training components.</li> </ul> If you're looking to push your limits, improve your endurance, and integrate strength training into your routine, this challenge is for you!
The integration of strength and circuit training alongside running sets this challenge apart. It emphasizes not just completing the half marathon but also improving overall fitness and fostering community. You can log your workouts on the app and connect with others who are following along with you to make new friends!
While completing the plan as designed maximizes benefits, participants are encouraged to listen to their bodies and modify workouts as needed. You can also start the program at any point and re-run the program if you wish to.
All workouts and schedules for the Hybrid Half Marathon Challenge will be available on the SweatPals platform. As part of the program, participants will have access to: <ul> <li>• A weekly tracker to monitor progress through the challenge.</li> <li>• Tools to log all runs, allowing participants to compare performance week-to-week.</li> <li>• Exclusive video content from RAWDAWG members, offering tips, motivation, and guidance for key workouts and runs.</li> </ul> These resources are designed to help you stay on track, informed, and inspired throughout the challenge!
Completing the Hybrid Half Marathon Challenge doesn’t mean the journey ends! After the challenge, participants will have the option to: <ul> <li>• <b>Re-run the Program:</b> Join the training plan anytime you want to build on your progress or prepare for another race.</li> <li>• <b>Celebrate with RAWDAWG Events:</b> Join post-program celebration events hosted by RAWDAWG Run Club, exclusively available via SweatPals. These events will bring the community together to share accomplishments, reflect on the journey, and enjoy the camaraderie of fellow participants.</li> </ul> Whether you want to maintain your momentum or celebrate your achievement with the community, the challenge opens up exciting opportunities to keep moving forward!
