Step into a high-elevation dreamscape as we hike through open meadows and spruce-fir forests with wild blueberries. This 4.7-mile loop starts with a scenic ascent to the summit of Sam Knob, where we’ll pause to take in views of the Shining Rock Wilderness. From there, we dip into the lush creekside trail of Flat Laurel, where late summer berries burst along the edges of the path.

Expect uneven, sometimes rocky terrain. Bring a small container if you want to gather a few berries on the way down.
