Hike up Shortoff Mountain with the Asheville chapter of Hikerkind Hike Club on a challenging out-and-back route with views of Linville Gorge. Expect exposed ridgelines and switchbacks until we reach the wide open summit. It's a 4.5-mile route with 1,200 ft of elevation gain, steep but steady, and we’ll move at a mindful pace, giving ourselves time to catch our breath and take in the view.

We'll hit the trail by 9:00, and aim to summit by late morning for a snack break and a chance to sit with the landscape. Afterward, you're invited to wind down with a stop at Fonta Flora Brewery at Whippoorwill Farm to toast to a big morning outside.

Parking is extremely limited and vehicles parked on the private section of Wolf Pit Road will be towed, so we *strongly* encourage carpooling and early arrival. Download the SweatPals app and chat with the group before the hike.
