I further understand that some PBP facilities may be available 24 hours a day, and that some of those operating times may be without staff supervision or observation of PBP facilities and that I may encounter additional risks during that time. Injury or death can arise from errors in judgment, from lack of training or information, from the negligence of me, employees or agents of PBP or other parties, as well as the risks normally associated with athletic endeavors. There is no way to eliminate the risk of serious harm or death. I understand that my use of PBP facilities and any instruction or knowledge I obtain at those facilities IS NOT sufficient to prepare me for the dangers and risks of indoor and outdoor climbing.

Boulderfest Volunteer Registration - Tempe 2026

Volunteers will stand in their designated zone and mark competitors’ attempts and tops. This role requires standing on the mat for about 3 hours, but you’ll get to watch elite-level climbers do their thing!

Volunteers will help the operations staff with registration and check-in in the coworking space. This may include scanning QR codes, checking in guests, and handing out wristbands, goodie bags, and T-shirts.

Competitors can have their scorecards signed off by a friend, fellow competitor, or spectator. Volunteer judges will act as floaters, filling in any gaps and looking for competitors who need their scorecards signed. They will also help support safety in the climbing area by monitoring higher-risk zones and keeping an eye out for potential hazards.

Volunteers will help count and distribute raffle tickets based on the number of climbs each competitor logs.

Volunteers will be stationed in the parking lot to help direct traffic, let guests know when the lot is full, and provide directions to other nearby parking areas. This role will require you to be outside in the hot sun, so please plan ahead, stay hydrated, and take care of yourself!

Volunteers will help us tear down after all the fun and excitement! This role may require some heavy lifting and lots of walking, so please wear comfortable, appropriate footwear. We’ll start cleaning up right after Open Finals and will keep you around for as long as you’re willing to help us!
