**SO EXCITED FOR THIS EVERYDAY OUTSIDER BACKPACKING TRIP !!**

We will be hiking up through the Caribou-Targhee National Forest! This is a 4 1/2 hour drive from Provo! This hike is 13 miles (total, there and back) and has about 2,000 ft of elevation gain. This hike will be split up into TWO days!

The beautiful scenery, rivers, wildlife, fishing, and alpine lakes make this a gorgeous spot for your first or 100th backpacking trip. Truly, it is one of my favorite hikes:)&#x20;

This is an BEGINNER/INTERMEDIATE hike! It is split up into two days of hiking with most of the elevation gain coming in the last two miles, so beginners are welcome!&#x20;

We will leave Friday morning and camp at the Lower Lake on Friday night. Campsites here are first come first serve, so we will have to wait and see what the options are for sites! We will wake up Saturday morning, hopefully see some moose (!!), and then hike to the Upper Palisades, where the water is DEEP BLUE, swimming is refreshing, and fish are everywhere! You're encourages to bring a fishing rod because it is so easy to catch big fish here! We will relax here for the day, camp over night at the Upper Lake, and then hike down Sunday morning! THE BEST WEEKEND OUTDOORS!&#x20;

Below is a list of things **EVERYDAY OUTSIDER** will provide and what **YOU** must provide for yourself:

Transport/gas to an amazing location

All meals/cooking supplies (Note: think dehydrated food, PB\&J, fruit snacks, tuna packs, granola bars, etc! Nothing fancy/heavy!)

Tents! Be prepared to bunk up with new friends!

Permits/reservations

Water filtration system

Emergency GPS system/SAT phone

First aid

2 fly fishing rods for everyone to practice on!&#x20;

**What participant provides:**

Camping gear like sleeping bags/sleeping pad (check BYU Outdoors for cheap rentals!)

Hiking shoes *(Hiking shoes required for Amethyst)*

Clothing/adequate layers (we will provide a packing list!)

Extra snacks (we will have granola bars, candy, pretzels, etc but anything else)

Personal hygiene products

Fishing rod/camping chair/books (if desired!)

BACKPACKING TRIP WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITY

ASSUMPTION OF RISKI, the undersigned, acknowledge that I am voluntarily participating in a backpacking trip organized by Everyday Outsider. I understand that backpacking is an inherently risky activity that may involve strenuous physical activity, exposure to unpredictable weather, wildlife encounters, challenging terrain, remote locations, and other hazards. I knowingly assume all risks associated with this activity, including but not limited to the risk of injury, illness, property damage, or death.

WAIVER AND RELEASE OF LIABILITYIn consideration of being allowed to participate in this backpacking trip, I, on behalf of myself, my heirs, executors, and assigns, hereby release, waive, and discharge Everyday Outsider, its officers, employees, volunteers, agents, and affiliates from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury (including death) that may be sustained by me, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

MEDICAL CONSENT I certify that I am in good physical health and capable of participating in this backpacking trip. I understand that emergency medical assistance may not be immediately available. In the event of a medical emergency, I consent to receiving necessary medical treatment and assume full financial responsibility for any expenses incurred.

EQUIPMENT AND RESPONSIBILITY I understand that I am responsible for my own personal equipment, including proper clothing, gear, and supplies for the trip. I acknowledge that failure to bring appropriate equipment may increase my risk of injury or harm. Additionally, I acknowledge that any gear provided by Everyday Outsider is used at my own risk and may experience failure. I accept full responsibility for any consequences resulting from such failure and release Everyday Outsider from any liability related to gear malfunction or inadequacy.

PHOTO RELEASE I grant Everyday Outsider permission to take and use photographs or videos of me for promotional, educational, or documentary purposes without compensation.

LEGAL AGREEMENT I certify that I have read this waiver, fully understand its terms, and sign it voluntarily. I understand that by signing this document, I am waiving certain legal rights.
