Beat the heat and start your day grounded in nature.

Join Sunday Grounding for a FREE community sunrise hike around the Newark Reservoir and neighboring trails. We'll hit the trail early, enjoying cooler temperatures, peaceful morning light, and the unique stillness that only exists before the rest of the world wakes up.



Together, we'll hike approximately 4 miles at a comfortable, community-centered pace. Along the way, we'll pause to connect with our breath, move intentionally, and take in the sights and sounds of the morning. Whether you're looking to improve your wellness, meet new people, or simply spend more time outdoors, this hike offers an opportunity to begin your day with purpose and presence.

Expect scenic water views, fresh air, gentle movement, and meaningful connection with a community that believes wellness starts outside.

By signing this waiver, you agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk
I acknowledge and understand that participation in outdoor and nature-based activities, including but not limited to hiking, camping, biking, forest bathing, and somatic exercises, involves inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to: trips, slips, falls, insect bites, weather conditions, animal encounters, dehydration, and physical exertion. I voluntarily assume all such risks, whether foreseen or unforeseen, and take full responsibility for my participation.

2. Release of Liability
In consideration of being allowed to participate in this event, I hereby release, waive, and discharge Whitney Wideman, Sunday Grounding, its officers, employees, volunteers, agents, affiliates, and event partners (collectively referred to as “the Released Parties”) from any and all liability, claims, demands, actions, or causes of action, whether caused by negligence or otherwise, for any injuries, losses, or damages (including but not limited to personal injury, property damage, or death) that may arise from or in connection with my participation in the event.

3. Medical Acknowledgment
I affirm that I am physically fit and capable of participating in this event. I understand that it is my responsibility to consult with a medical professional prior to participating, especially if I have any pre-existing health conditions. I authorize the event organizers to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if necessary.

4. Photo/Video Release
I grant permission for photos and/or video taken during the event to be used for promotional purposes by Sunday Grounding, including but not limited to social media, websites, and printed materials. (If you do not consent to this, please email us Whitney@sundaygrounding.com)

5. Binding Agreement
I understand that this waiver is binding upon me, my heirs, executors, legal representatives, and assigns. If any part of this waiver is found to be invalid, the remainder will remain in full force and effect.
