 **Honolulu Marathon Shakeout Run Liability Waiver**

**READ CAREFULLY — THIS IS A RELEASE OF LIABILITY**

By participating in the Honolulu Marathon Shakeout Run (“Event”), I acknowledge and agree to the following:

### **1. Voluntary Participation**

I understand that running, walking, and engaging in physical activity involve inherent risks, including but not limited to slips, falls, dehydration, heat-related illness, traffic hazards, collisions, uneven terrain, weather conditions, and other dangers. I choose to participate voluntarily and accept full responsibility for my own safety.

### **2. Assumption of Risk**

I acknowledge that injuries, illness, or accidents may occur as a result of my participation, and that these risks cannot be fully eliminated. I understand that the Event may take place on open roads, sidewalks, beaches, or public paths where vehicles, cyclists, and pedestrians may be present. I assume all risks, known and unknown.

### **3. Release of Liability**

I hereby release, waive, and discharge the following parties from any and all liability, claims, demands, causes of action, or damages arising from or connected to my participation:

* BARC
* SweatPals
* All event organizers, hosts, volunteers, and partners
* Any affiliated sponsors or vendors
* Their officers, employees, contractors, and representatives

This release applies to injuries, accidents, illness, property damage, or death — whether caused by negligence or otherwise — to the fullest extent permitted by law.

### **4. Personal Responsibility**

I confirm that I am physically able to participate and that I will listen to my body, stay hydrated, and act responsibly at all times. I agree to follow all safety instructions, traffic rules, and guidance from organizers and volunteers.

### **5. No Medical Services Provided**

I understand that the Event does not provide medical supervision or emergency services. I am fully responsible for my own health needs before, during, and after the event.

### **6. Photography & Media Release**

I grant permission to the Event organizers and partners to capture and use photos or videos of me for promotional and marketing purposes without compensation.

### **7. Acknowledgment of Terms**

By attending, registering for, or participating in the Event, I acknowledge that I have read, understand, and agree to this waiver in full. I accept all responsibility for my participation.
