Join us on Saturday, June 28th, for a day trip with the Asheville Chapter to Panthertown Valley—often called the Yosemite of the East for its dramatic granite cliffs and lush, secluded wilderness. We’ll hike a 5.9-mile loop through rhododendron tunnels, fern-filled forests, and granite outcrops, stopping at the iconic Schoolhouse Falls. Near the end of the route, we’ll cool off at a peaceful creek-side sandbar and waterfall—a perfect reward after a day on the trail. With about 807 feet of elevation gain, this moderate hike offers quiet woods, cascading streams, and scenic mountain views
