Mahjong Night W/ Collective Sparrows

We're taking over Alma Wine Bar for a night of Hong Kong style mahjong, and no experience is needed. If you've never touched a tile in your life, you're exactly who this is for. Expert hosts from the Collective Sparrows team (a Sacramento based mahjong club!) will walk you through it, and by the end of the night you'll actually know how to play.

What's Included

Your ticket includes everything you need to learn and play:

• Instruction from expert hosts on the Collective Sparrows team
• A table guide at every table to help as you go
• All equipment provided: mats, tiles, racks, and more
• Chances to win prizes throughout the night

We're playing Hong Kong style mahjong only. If you've played American mahjong before, the rules and scoring are different, so come ready to learn a new version.

You do not need to bring a mahjong set. We'll have plenty available.

Who This Is For

This event is for women 21 and over who are open to meeting new people. Come solo or bring a friend, either works. The whole point is a good time and getting you connected to other women in our city, so you'll be seated with people you haven't met yet.

Drinks

Alma Wine Bar has a variety of drinks available for purchase. Food and drinks are not included in your ticket.

Check-In

Look for a GNO team member at the entrance when you arrive. Have your ticket ready to show, either in the Sweatpals app or your confirmation email. Please arrive on time, since instruction starts at the beginning and it's much harder to jump in late.

Parking

There is free street parking in the surrounding area. Park at your own risk, and please drink responsibly and plan your ride home.

About GNO Sacramento

GNO Sacramento is all about building real community for women in our city. Whether you show up alone or with your bestie, the goal is the same: leave with new friends and a fuller social calendar.
