About this event
Hi , Im Michael the host of our 7th annual cold plunge in nature event. Rooted in Misogi and the Wim Hof Method, this event brings people from all over to connect in nature, release what no longer serves them and step into renewed focus, discipline, and vitality!
Misogi is a traditional Japanese Shinto purification practice rooted in nature. Through holistic, wrap-around services delivered in a safe, community-minded, trauma-informed environment, we equip them with the essential tools, education, empowerment with an emphasis on brain health, to overcome adversity, achieve self-sufficiency, and ultimately prevent future homelessness. We also actively engage and consult with the community to provide targeted trainings, amplifying our collective impact in support of these youth. 900 youth age out of the foster care system each year, within two years 50% will become homeless. There are 14,000 youth in the foster care system, 25% will become homeless instantly when they age out. 65% of our chronically homeless were a part of foster care. 71% of women will become pregnant by age of 21, 1/3 will be sex-trafficked, less than 3% will earn a higher education. Only 50% of aged out foster youth will have a job by age 24, and 1 in 5 will be a part of the criminal justice system by age 18.
