Join the San Francisco chapter of Hikerkind Hike Club to hike the Tennessee Valley Trail, an easy, flat 3-mile out-and-back with just 180 feet of elevation gain. The path winds gently through the coastal valley before opening up to the wide, tucked-away Tennessee Valley Beach. We’ll settle in and pause as the sun dips toward the horizon. You can choose to wander up the short spur trail for a higher viewpoint, or stay on the sand while the ocean reflects the evening light. Sunset is at 6:15 PM, and we’ll begin our return as twilight sets in, getting back to the trailhead before 7 PM. Afterward, you’ll have the option to join as we gather for dinner nearby.

The trail is located on the native lands of the Coast Miwok people.

**Trail Notes:**

* Wide, mostly flat dirt path with some uneven surfaces
* Benches along the way
* No lighting, headlamps recommended for return
* Bring warm layers, it cools quickly after sunset
* Bring a blanket or pad for sitting on the beach
* Parking available at Tennessee Valley trailhead lot (arrive early to secure a spot)
