Participant Waiver & Release of Liability

Event: Lucky Loop – St. Patrick’s Day Run & Party
Location: Stargazer, Austin, Texas
Organizer: Body Art Run Club (BARC)
Activity: 1-mile social run + post-run celebration

By signing this waiver, I acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Voluntary Participation

I understand that I am voluntarily participating in the Lucky Loop event, which includes but is not limited to:
	•	A 1-mile group run on public streets/sidewalks
	•	Participation in a social gathering/party environment
	•	Potential consumption of alcoholic beverages
	•	Participation in optional flash tattoo services
	•	Interactions with vendors, sponsors, and other participants

I understand participation is voluntary and I may withdraw at any time.

2. Assumption of Risk

I acknowledge that participation in this event involves inherent risks, including but not limited to:
	•	Running or physical exertion
	•	Slips, trips, or falls
	•	Collisions with other participants, vehicles, or objects
	•	Uneven terrain or road hazards
	•	Weather conditions
	•	Alcohol consumption
	•	Tattoo procedures or interactions with vendors
	•	Injury, illness, property damage, or death

I knowingly and freely assume all risks, both known and unknown, associated with participating in this event.

3. Alcohol Acknowledgment

If alcohol is served or consumed during the event, I agree that:
	•	I am 21 years of age or older if consuming alcohol
	•	I will consume responsibly
	•	I assume all risks related to alcohol consumption
	•	I will not operate a vehicle under the influence

I understand that event organizers and partners are not responsible for any actions taken while under the influence of alcohol.

4. Tattoo & Vendor Disclaimer

If I choose to receive a flash tattoo or interact with vendors, I acknowledge that:
	•	Tattoo services are provided by independent artists/vendors
	•	Event organizers do not control or supervise tattoo procedures
	•	I assume all risks related to tattoos including infection, allergic reaction, or dissatisfaction
	•	Any issues must be addressed directly with the vendor or artist

I release Body Art Run Club and its partners from any liability related to tattoo services or vendor interactions.

5. Release of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, I release, waive, and discharge the following from any and all liability:
	•	Body Art Run Club (BARC)
	•	Event organizers, volunteers, and staff
	•	Stargazer and venue operators
	•	Event sponsors and brand partners
	•	Vendors and participating businesses
	•	Any affiliated companies, partners, or representatives

from any claims, damages, injuries, or losses arising from my participation in the event.

6. Medical Responsibility

I certify that:
	•	I am physically able to participate in the run
	•	I am responsible for my own health and safety
	•	I will seek medical attention if necessary

I authorize emergency medical care if needed and accept financial responsibility for any treatment.

7. Photo & Media Release

I grant permission to Body Art Run Club and its partners to use photos or video taken during the event for:
	•	Social media
	•	Marketing and promotional materials
	•	Future event promotion

I understand no compensation will be provided for such use.

8. Code of Conduct

I agree to:
	•	Respect event staff, participants, and venue rules
	•	Follow safety instructions
	•	Avoid unsafe or disruptive behavior

Organizers reserve the right to remove participants without refund for unsafe conduct.

I agree to indemnify and hold harmless Body Art Run Club and all affiliated parties from any claims arising from my participation.
