🆓 Haulover Park is open to the public, so anyone is welcome to come enjoy the event. However, 5K race amenities (ice plunges, timing, finisher pins, yoga, refreshments, etc.) are reserved for registered participants only.

**🚗** Parking is charged at an hourly rate with the Park App.

SHATTER THE STIGMA 5K WAIVER & RELEASE OF LIABILITY
ASSUMPTION OF RISK / WAIVER OF LIABILITY / INDEMNIFICATION AGREEMENT


I, (Participant's Name), desire to participate in the Shatter the Stigma 5K on November 2nd, 2025,  a charity run hosted at Haulover Park, organized by The Shatter Foundation, Inc. in collaboration with event sponsors and partners (hereafter referred to as the "Event Organizers"). In consideration of being allowed to participate in this event, I agree to the following:

Assumption of Risk & Physical Fitness


I understand that participating in the Shatter the Stigma 5K involves rigorous physical activity, including running or walking long distances, and carries inherent risks, such as but not limited to:

Physical exertion leading to exhaustion, dehydration, or other medical conditions.
Uneven terrain, obstacles, or environmental hazards, such as heat, rain, or slippery surfaces.
Unpredictable actions of other participants, spectators, or individuals present at the event.
I confirm that I am physically fit to participate and, if necessary, have consulted with a medical professional to assess my ability to engage in this activity. I voluntarily assume all risks associated with participating in this event, including potential injury, illness, or other harm.

Liability Waiver & Release


I, for myself, my heirs, assigns, and personal representatives, release and hold harmless the Event Organizers, including Florida International University, the FIU Society of Psychedelic Science, event sponsors, volunteers, vendors, and any affiliated individuals or entities from any and all liability for injuries, damages, or losses arising from my participation, whether caused by negligence or otherwise.

I understand and agree that this waiver applies to all claims related to personal injury, illness, property damage, economic loss, emotional distress, or other losses that may occur as a result of my involvement in the event.

Communicable Disease Release (Including COVID-19)


I acknowledge the possibility of exposure to infectious diseases, including COVID-19, influenza, and other communicable illnesses. I accept the risks associated with public gatherings and understand that the Event Organizers cannot guarantee a disease-free environment. I agree to follow any health and safety protocols set forth by the event or local authorities and to refrain from participating if I exhibit symptoms of illness.

Photo & Media Release


I grant the Event Organizers and their media partners the right to capture and use my image, likeness, and voice in photographs, videos, and other media for promotional, educational, and fundraising purposes, without compensation.

Use of Information & Communication Consent

By registering for the Shatter The Stigma 5K, I understand and agree that my name, email address, and phone number may be collected and used by Event Organizers for purposes related to event coordination, post-race communication, and nonprofit outreach. I further acknowledge and consent that, as part of a limited incentive program for top-performing affiliates (e.g., school clubs, community groups, or wellness brands who generate significant race registrations), my contact information (name, email, phone number) may be shared only with the top 5 official affiliate teams for the sole purpose of post-race outreach and follow-up related to the Shatter The Stigma 5K and its mission-driven initiatives.

I understand that my information will never be sold or used for unrelated third-party marketing purposes. I may opt out of communications at any time by contacting The Shatter Foundation doing business as Shatter The Stigma.

Agreement & Acknowledgement


I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE AGREEMENT. I VOLUNTARILY AGREE TO ITS TERMS AND ACKNOWLEDGE THAT BY SIGNING BELOW (OR ELECTRONICALLY AGREEING), I AM GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE FOR INJURIES OR DAMAGES RESULTING FROM MY PARTICIPATION IN THE EVENT.
