Join us on the water for a relaxing evening of Stand Up Paddleboarding, proudly hosted in collaboration with **Lake Austin Calm**! Come decompress, connect with others, and enjoy the beautiful nature Austin has to offer.

* **When:** Tuesday, 6:00 PM – 8:00 PM
* **Where:** Mozart's Coffee Roasters (Lower Deck / Boat Dock)
* **What to Bring:** Just yourself and a positive attitude! Paddleboards and life vests will be provided.

**Important Details:**

* **Arrival:** Please plan to arrive **5 minutes early** so we can distribute gear and get out on the water right at 6:00 PM.
* **Meeting Point:** Head down to the lower deck and Mozart's dock to find the group.

RECOVERY OUTSIDE PARTICIPANT AGREEMENT

At Recovery Outside, we are committed to creating a supportive, inclusive, and empowering environment grounded in our five core values. By participating in our events, you agree to uphold the following principles that reflect our shared commitments:

1. Recovery: We center our recovery and mental health.
All Recovery Outside events are alcohol- and substance-free. Participants must be sober during all activities.
Please be mindful of your language when discussing alcohol, substances, or mental health, recognizing the diverse experiences of others in recovery.
Clothing that promotes alcohol or drug use, or contains language or imagery that is offensive, inappropriate, or stigmatizing, is not permitted.
Smoking and vaping must be done respectfully and away from group spaces or communal areas.
Our purpose for joining is to find support in recovery/sobriety, disruptive conversations or behaviors that detract from that purpose may be asked to discontinue.

2. Community: We believe in the strength and healing that comes from shared experiences and mutual support.
We show up for each other. Listen actively, offer support when appropriate, and participate in group activities with openness and compassion.
We acknowledge that everyone is on their own journey—there is no single "right way" to recover or heal.
We build community by showing patience, being inclusive, and avoiding judgment of others’ experiences or perspectives.

3. Safety: We are dedicated to promoting physical and emotional safety.
Follow all safety guidelines and instructions provided by Recovery Outside leaders or facilitators during activities.
Communicate any physical or emotional needs that may affect your ability to participate in an activity safely.
Do not engage in behavior that could endanger yourself or others, including risky physical actions or aggressive language.
Practice consent in all interactions. Always ask before initiating physical contact or sensitive conversations.

4. Respect: We treat every individual with dignity, empathy, and understanding, honoring their unique journey.
Speak and act with kindness. Avoid sarcasm, put-downs, or language that may be dismissive, discriminatory, or exclusionary.
Respect the privacy of others. Do not share other people's personal stories, names, or photos from events without permission.
Recognize that everyone brings different identities, backgrounds, and needs. Approach others with humility and curiosity, not assumptions.
Show respect for the leadership and guidance of the volunteers and staff; they are donating  their time to provide a service and to protect all participants and the organization.

5. Adventure: We embrace the challenge of outdoor activities as a catalyst for growth, self-discovery, and joy.
Be open to stepping outside your comfort zone while respecting your own and others’ boundaries.
Celebrate each other’s courage, progress, and participation—regardless of skill level or experience.
Approach each activity with a spirit of fun, exploration, and mutual encouragement.
Be adaptable and prepared for nature’s unpredictability, and support one another in navigating outdoor challenges.

AGREEMENT

By attending a Recovery Outside event, you agree to uphold these values and help foster a community of trust, safety, and healing. If your behavior is not in alignment with these expectations, you may be asked to step away from the event or take a break from participation. These guidelines are in place to ensure a respectful and supportive environment for everyone.

RELEASE AND WAIVER OF LIABILITY AND ASSUMPTION OF RISK
The individual named below (referred to as "I" or "me") desires to participate in an event or outdoor activity (whether singular or plural, hereinafter referred to as the "Activities") provided by/sponsored by RECOVERY OUTSIDE, a Texas nonprofit corporation with offices located at 4516 PAGE ST, AUSTIN, TX 78723. In consideration of being permitted by the Company to participate in the Activities and in recognition of the Company's reliance hereon, I agree to all the terms and conditions set forth in this instrument (this "Release").
I AM AWARE AND UNDERSTAND THAT THE ACTIVITIES ARE POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS ACTIVITIES AND INVOLVE THE RISK OF PERSONAL OR PSYCHOLOGICAL INJURY, PAIN, SUFFERING, TEMPORARY OR PERMANENT DISABILITY, DEATH, PROPERTY DAMAGE AND/OR FINANCIAL LOSS. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT ANY INJURIES THAT I SUSTAIN MAY RESULT FROM OR BE COMPOUNDED BY THE ACTIONS, OMISSIONS, OR NEGLIGENCE OF THE COMPANY, INCLUDING NEGLIGENT EMERGENCY RESPONSE OR RESCUE OPERATIONS OF THE COMPANY. NOTWITHSTANDING THE RISK, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I AM KNOWINGLY AND VOLUNTARILY PARTICIPATING IN THE ACTIVITIES WITH AN EXPRESS UNDERSTANDING OF THE DANGER INVOLVED AND HEREBY AGREE TO ACCEPT AND ASSUME ANY AND ALL RISKS OF INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, AND/OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING FROM THE ACTIVITIES, WHETHER CAUSED BY THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE COMPANY OR OTHERWISE.
I HEREBY EXPRESSLY WAIVE AND RELEASE ANY AND ALL CLAIMS, NOW KNOWN OR HEREAFTER KNOWN, AGAINST THE COMPANY, AND ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AGENTS, AFFILIATES, MEMBERS, CONTRACTORS, SUCCESSORS, AND ASSIGNS (COLLECTIVELY, "RELEASEES"), ON ACCOUNT OF INJURY, DISABILITY, DEATH, OR PROPERTY DAMAGE ARISING OUT OF OR ATTRIBUTABLE TO THE ACTIVITIES, WHETHER ARISING OUT OF THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE COMPANY OR ANY RELEASEES OR OTHERWISE. I COVENANT NOT TO MAKE OR BRING ANY SUCH CLAIM AGAINST THE COMPANY OR ANY OTHER RELEASEE, AND FOREVER RELEASE AND DISCHARGE THE COMPANY AND ALL OTHER RELEASEES FROM LIABILITY UNDER SUCH CLAIMS. THIS WAIVER AND RELEASE DOES NOT EXTEND TO CLAIMS FOR GROSS NEGLIGENCE, WILLFUL MISCONDUCT, OR ANY OTHER LIABILITIES THAT TEXAS LAW DOES NOT PERMIT TO BE RELEASED BY AGREEMENT.
I SHALL DEFEND, INDEMNIFY, AND HOLD HARMLESS THE COMPANY AND ALL OTHER RELEASEES AGAINST ANY AND ALL LOSSES, DAMAGES, LIABILITIES, DEFICIENCIES, CLAIMS, ACTIONS, JUDGMENTS, SETTLEMENTS, INTEREST, AWARDS, PENALTIES, FINES, COSTS, OR EXPENSES OF WHATEVER KIND, INCLUDING ATTORNEY FEES, FEES, THE COSTS OF ENFORCING ANY RIGHT TO INDEMNIFICATION UNDER THIS RELEASE, AND THE COST OF PURSUING ANY INSURANCE PROVIDERS, INCURRED BY/AWARDED AGAINST THE COMPANY OR ANY OTHER RELEASEES, INCLUDING ANY CLAIM RELATED TO MY OWN NEGLIGENCE OR THE ORDINARY NEGLIGENCE OF THE COMPANY.
I hereby consent to receive medical treatment deemed necessary if I am injured or require medical attention during my participation in the Activities. I understand and agree that I am solely responsible for all costs related to such medical treatment and any related medical transportation and/or evacuation. I hereby release, forever discharge, and hold harmless the Company and all other Releasees from any claim based on such treatment or other medical services.
I hereby grant the Company the irrevocable and perpetual right and permission to use, reproduce, distribute, and publicly display my photograph, likeness, and any video or audio recordings in which the I may be included, in any and all media now known or hereafter devised, including but not limited to marketing materials, social media, advertising, and promotional activities related to the Company's services. I acknowledge that I shall not receive any compensation for such use and waive any right to inspect or approve the finished product or the use to which it may be applied. I further release the Company from any claims or demands arising out of or in connection with the use of such materials, including but not limited to any claims for libel, slander, defamation or invasion of privacy.
This Release constitutes the sole and entire agreement of the Company and me with respect to the subject matter contained herein and supersedes all prior and contemporaneous understandings, agreements, representations, and warranties, both written and oral, with respect to such subject matter. If any term or provision of this Release or the application thereof to any party or circumstance is held invalid, illegal, or unenforceable to any extent in any jurisdiction, then the remaining terms and provisions of this Release and their application to other parties or circumstances shall not be affected thereby and shall be enforced to the greatest extent permitted by law. This Release is binding on and shall inure to the benefit of the Company and me and our respective heirs, successors, and assigns. All matters arising out of or relating to this Release shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the internal laws of the State of Texas, excluding any conflict-of-laws rule or principle that might refer the governance or the construction of this agreement to the laws of another jurisdiction. Any claim or cause of action arising under this Release may be brought only in the federal and state courts located in Travis County, Texas and I hereby consent to the exclusive jurisdiction of such courts.

BY SIGNING BELOW, I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT I HAVE READ AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ALL OF THE TERMS OF THIS RELEASE AND THAT I AM VOLUNTARILY GIVING UP SUBSTANTIAL LEGAL RIGHTS, INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE THE COMPANY, WITHOUT ANY INDUCEMENT, ASSURANCE, OR GUARANTEE BEING MADE TO ME. I INTEND MY SIGNATURE TO BE THE REQUIRED EVIDENCE OF MY ASSENT TO COMPLETELY AND UNCONDITIONALLY RELEASE ALL LIABILITY TO THE GREATEST EXTENT ALLOWED BY LAW. I ACKNOWLEDGE THAT PRIOR TO SIGNING THIS AGREEMENT, I HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO CONSULT WITH AN ATTORNEY TO REVIEW THIS AGREEMENT. I AM A LEAST EIGHTEEN (18) YEARS OF AGE AND FULLY COMPETENT.



I am the parent or legal guardian of the minor named above. I have the legal right to consent to and, by signing below, I hereby consent and agree to the terms and conditions of this Release and Waiver of Liability and Assumption of Risk.
