**IMPORTANT: THIS IS A LEGAL DOCUMENT. READ CAREFULLY BEFORE SIGNING. BY SIGNING THIS DOCUMENT, YOU WAIVE CERTAIN LEGAL RIGHTS INCLUDING THE RIGHT TO SUE.**

### 1. **Voluntary Participation**

I acknowledge that my participation in **The Amazing Pace** event (“Event”) is entirely voluntary. I understand that the Event involves running, navigating public spaces, interacting with others, and completing physical and mental challenges across multiple locations. I choose to participate of my own free will.

### 2. **Assumption of Risk**

I fully understand and accept that this Event involves **inherent risks**, including but not limited to:

* Collisions with pedestrians, cyclists, or vehicles in open urban environments
* Tripping, falling, or running on uneven or unpredictable surfaces (e.g. streets, sidewalks, curbs)
* Sudden changes in weather (e.g. heat, rain, wind)
* Dehydration, exhaustion, or heat-related illness
* Exposure to high-traffic areas or unsafe behavior from the public
* Injury while completing physical tasks or challenges at checkpoints
* Getting lost or disoriented while navigating the course
* Limited access to immediate medical care

I **knowingly and voluntarily assume all risks**, both known and unknown, including those that may result in injury, illness, permanent disability, or death — even if arising from the negligence of the organizers or third parties.

### 3. **Personal Responsibility**

I agree to conduct myself safely and responsibly throughout the Event, including:

* Obeying all traffic laws, pedestrian rules, and safety signals
* Yielding to traffic and avoiding dangerous shortcuts or jaywalking
* Using crosswalks and sidewalks where available
* Listening to my body and stopping if I feel dizzy, lightheaded, or unwell
* Staying hydrated and taking breaks when necessary
* Being mindful of others and acting with respect and sportsmanship
* Following instructions from Event organizers and checkpoint volunteers

I understand that **reckless behavior, shortcuts, or endangering others** may result in removal from the Event.

### 4. **Release & Waiver of Liability**

In consideration of being permitted to participate in this Event, I release and forever discharge the Event organizers, SweatPals, \[Run Club Name], partners, sponsors, affiliates, volunteers, and any venue or checkpoint hosts (collectively, the “Released Parties”) from all liability, claims, or demands for any injuries, illness, damages, or losses arising from my participation.

This release applies even if such injury or loss is caused by the negligence of any of the Released Parties.

### 5. **Indemnification**

I agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the Released Parties from any claims, damages, or losses (including legal fees) arising from my actions during the Event, including but not limited to: property damage, injury to others, or violations of law.

### 6. **Medical Condition & Fitness**

I certify that I am physically and mentally fit to participate in a competitive and physically demanding event. I am not aware of any medical condition that would increase my risk of injury or illness during this event. I take full responsibility for my health and safety during the Event.

### 7. **Media Release**

I grant permission for photos, video, or other media taken during the Event to be used by the Event organizers for promotional purposes without compensation.

### 8. **No Insurance Provided**

I understand that the Event does not provide personal health, accident, or property insurance and that I am solely responsible for such coverage if desired.

### 9. **Severability & Jurisdiction**

If any part of this waiver is held to be invalid, the remainder shall remain enforceable. This agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of Texas, and any disputes shall be resolved in courts located in Travis County, Texas.


I HAVE READ THIS RELEASE OF LIABILITY AND FULLY UNDERSTAND ITS TERMS. I AM SIGNING IT VOLUNTARILY AND INTEND FOR IT TO BE LEGALLY BINDING ON ME, MY HEIRS, EXECUTORS, AND ASSIGNS.
