Join us for the second annual Final Frontier bouldering competition! The Final Frontier is a day of fun including food, music, raffles, and (of course) boulders. This competition is for all climbers, whether it's your first time in a climbing gym or you have competed in a World Cup. We will have something for EVERYONE to try hard on. Register in the Early Bird period to guarantee your shirt size.

**Categories**

-Recreational- Blue Tags, Yellow Tags, and the occasional Red Tag

-Intermediate- Yellow Tags, Red Tags, and the occasional Green Tag

-Advanced- Red Tags, Green Tags, and the occasional Purple Tag

-Elite- Green Tags, Purple Tags, and Black Tags

-Youth (13 and Under)- All circuits

\*Note for Youth competitors: Youth competitors may climb in both the youth round in SESSION 1 and one of the adult categories in SESSION 2 if they want to at no extra charge.

**SESSION 2- RECREATIONAL, INTERMEDIATE, AND ADVANCED**

-Check In- 1:00 PM-1:45 PM

-Rules Meeting- 1:45 PM-2:00 PM

-Climbing- 2:00 PM-5:00 PM

**RAFFLE AND FOOD TRUCK**

5:00 PM-6:45 PM

**ELITE FINALS**

-Finals area opens for spectators- 6:30 PM

-Finalists begin observation period- 6:45 PM

-Finals!- 7:00 PM-9:00 PM

**Qualifier Format**

**Youth, Recreational, Intermediate, and Advanced** competitors will receive a scorecard with 10 boulders numbered from 1-10 in order of difficulty. Competitors will have unlimited attempts to send the 10 boulders in their category. Each send is worth 2 raffle tickets and points towards their final score.&#x20;

**Elite** competitors will receive a scorecard with 15 boulders numbered from 1-15 in order of difficulty. Competitors will have unlimited attempts to send each boulder in their category. The 5 highest scoring female Elite competitors and the 5 highest scoring male Elite competitors will advance to Finals. Competitors that do not advance to finals will receive 2 raffle tickets for each send.&#x20;

**Scoring**

A competitor's final score is based on the number associated with each problem. For example, Boulder 1= 100 points, Boulder 2= 200 points, Boulder 3= 300 points, and so on. A flash (completing the climb on the first attempt) earns full points. Each subsequent attempt subtracts 10 points from their score. Points are only scored if the problem is completed.&#x20;

\*For Elite only the 5 hardest sends are counted towards the final score. For all other categories, every send counts.

**Finals Format**

The finals round will be a 3 boulder isolation round. Competitors will have 2 minutes of observation for each boulder, then 4 minutes to complete each boulder. The final ranking will be determined by number of tops, followed by attempts to top, followed by number of zones, followed by attempts to zone, and, if there is still a tie, ranking from the qualification round.
