Welcome to **The Fire Tower Quest,**  an ongoing OUTSIDERS hiking series dedicated to summiting the **EIGHT ICONIC FIRE TOWERS** of the Catskills with a patch to prove it.

These historic towers rise above the forest canopy, rewarding those who climb them with panoramic views that stretch for miles. Each quest takes us up a different Catskills peak, with steady climbs, rocky sections, forested switchbacks, all leading to that final metal staircase and the unbeatable view at the top.



For those who visit all Catskills fire towers in 2026, you’ll earn your first hiking patch with the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation to commemorate your achievement and proudly display your accomplishment. . This series is about more than checking off summits. It’s about earning perspective. Moving with purpose. Building grit. And sharing the climb with people who show up ready to push themselves.

Expect a moderate-to-challenging hike depending on the mountain selected for the day. Terrain may include elevation gain, uneven footing, and exposed sections near the summit. The reward? Crisp mountain air, wide-open views, and that unmistakable summit feeling.

### **EVENT DETAILS:**

**8:30 AM** – Meet
&#x20;**9:00 AM** – Depart
&#x20;**11:30 AM** – Arrive at Trailhead + Begin Hike
&#x20;**Afternoon** – Summit + Tower Climb
&#x20;**Late Afternoon** – Descend + Head Home
&#x20;**Evening** – Return (timing varies by mountain and pace)

• This is a moderate to strenuous hike depending on the selected peak.
&#x20;• Proper footwear is mandatory. Unsafe attire may result in denied participation for safety reasons.
