For thousands of years, humans have flown kites as a way to quiet the mind, reconnect with nature, and experience a simple kind of joy.


Windy City Kite Club is hosting a relaxed morning of flying, movement, & community.


**When & Where**

-Saturday April 18th | 10:30 - 12:30 PM CST

-Fullerton Beach (grassy area near Theater on the Lake)


**What to Expect**

-Open kite flying (all experience levels)

-A welcoming, low-pressure community atmosphere

-Space to slow down, move, and reset outdoors

-New to flying? We'll get you in the air within 10 minutes


**What to Bring**

-A kite or grab one from us onsite\* (limited quantity)

-Water, dress for the elements, & good vibes


**Flying Guidance**

-Strictly no manja or abrasive line

-Flying heights will be capped at \~200 ft
-On high wind days, recommend non framed parafoil kites specifically


**Weather Plan**

-We'll be flying in wind conditions of 6 - 20 mph. Updates will be shared in advance if needed&#x20;


**Parking Guidance:**&#x20;
-Rideshare: Drop off Theater on the Lake&#x20;
-Parking near: park at Diversey driving range & mini golf (\~15 min walk to Fullerton beach) or N Cannon Drive

By attending a Windy City Kite Club event, including the “Go Fly A Kite” weekly meetups, you acknowledge and agree to the following:

1. Assumption of Risk

I understand that participating in outdoor recreational activities, including kite flying, involves inherent risks. These may include, but are not limited to:

Changes in weather conditions (wind, temperature, sun exposure)
Uneven terrain, sand, or obstacles
Interaction with other participants or members of the public
Use of equipment such as kites, lines, and accessories

I voluntarily assume all risks associated with my participation.

2. Release of Liability

I hereby release and hold harmless Windy City Kite Club, its organizer(s), volunteers, and partners from any and all liability, claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of or related to any injury, loss, or damage that may occur during or after participation in the event.

3. Personal Responsibility

I agree to:

Act responsibly and respectfully toward others
Follow all posted guidelines and instructions
Use safe kite flying practices (including no use of glass-coated or abrasive line such as manja)
Be aware of my surroundings and avoid flying near people, structures, or restricted areas
4. Health & Fitness

I confirm that I am physically able to participate in this activity and have no condition that would prevent safe participation.

5. Photography & Media Release

I understand that photos and videos may be taken during the event and may be used by Windy City Kite Club for promotional and social media purposes. By attending, I grant permission for my image to be used without compensation.

6. Minors

Participants under 18 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian, who agrees to this waiver on their behalf.

7. Acknowledgment

By attending this event, I acknowledge that I have read, understood, and agree to this waiver and release of liability.
