WHAT'S HAPPENING 1️⃣ COMMUNITY COMP 🧗 Boulderfest is an all-levels climbing competition. Whether you’ve been climbing for years, or it’s your first ever comp, you’ll find something fun and challenging for you to climb. The routes are the absolute best of what Bouldering Project and our setting team have to offer. 2️⃣ PRIZES 🎁 Everyone who competes has a chance to win awesome prizes. Each boulder topped = one entry. We have incredible prizes from our sponsors and local brands, and the giveaway is always a blast. 3️⃣ OPEN CATEGORY FINALS 🏆 This year our finals will have 3 categories: Non-Binary, Women, and Men. Boulderfest weekend culminates in an electric Open Finals competition on Saturday evening. Pro climbers and incredible athletes compete to claim the title of Boulderfest ’24 champion. The winners take home the $10K+ cash purse and bragging rights. 4️⃣ ALL DAY PARTY 🎉 The day kicks off with our community competition and is followed by a whole day of activities. HOW TO SELECT YOUR CATEGORY: Community Comp Sessions: - Recreational: Yellow, Red, Green circuits - Intermediate: Purple, Orange, Black circuits - Advanced: Black, Blue, Pink Circuits Competitors self-select into their respective categories during the registration process. The idea is to challenge yourself! When trying your absolute hardest, if you are able to top 10 boulders in the highest color available in that category in one climbing session, you should compete at the next level up. See the example below: Example: “I generally climb purples/oranges/blacks. I can flash most oranges.” When trying your hardest, are you able to complete 10 black boulders in one climbing session? We recommend the Advanced Category. When trying your hardest, is the Black category overall still challenging, meaning you can’t send 10 black boulders in one climbing session? We recommend the Intermediate Category. OPEN QUALIFIER FORMAT: - 3 gender categories: Non-Binary, Women, Men - 27 Blue, Pink, and White circuit boulders will be assigned point values in order of difficulty - 8 attempts allowed per boulder - Top 10 boulders will be scored - Open Qualifier boulders will be scored by volunteer judges. - Top 6 from each category will go in to Saturday's Open Finals, 7:00pm - $10K+ Cash Purse Questions?
