Grab your bike and a scary looking stranger you see on your way and join us as we ride bikes around Austin briefly viewing art in public place on our quiet streets and trails every Sunday evening.

We visit parks, parking garages, bakeries, and convenient stores as we ride around appreciating art.

We typically ride about 10-15 miles, not too many hills, but you never know.

Note that this ride is a no drop ride, meaning everyone sticks together and no one gets left behind. All skill levels are welcome.

ROUTE: Rider leader’s choice, reasonable requests will be entertained, or not.

WHAT YOU NEED: Lights, Locks, Water, Wheels, an ID, money for food and drinks, and your friends.

HOW: Social Cycling Austin rides AS traffic and NOT AGAINST it. We stop at red lights, yield the right of way and let cars pass as best we can. We don't block intersections. We are nice to both our fellow riders and the other traffic on the road. LISTEN TO the volunteers helping to lead the ride. They are some nice folks and have you best interest in mind. The Thursday Night Social Ride (#ThursdayNightSocialRide) is a very casual cruise around town with anywhere from 150-250 cyclists attending every week! The pace is social (easy). Typically, we ride to various locations where we socialize, swim (depending on season), play games or just hang out. We then ride some more before arriving at one of our many generous host bars that supply our riders with hospitality and good times. We meet at the same spot every week, with the mid and end varying.

Thursday Night Social Ride

The TSBVI has some tandem bikes for us to use. We are meeting at the school and taking the kids on a social ride. It's an incredible experience to say the least. This is a chance to make a kiddo's week just by riding your bike (something you would more than likely be doing anyway).

You only need to fill this out if you want to captain a tandem. If not, just show up, ride and hang out with the kiddos. 

***It is VERY IMPORTANT that we get everyone to fill out the school's volunteer form so that you can captain a bike. If you prefer not to captain a bike with a kiddo, we would love to just have you join and ride with us. 

WHEN AND WHERE: 6PM to unload tandems, we leave at 6:30 SHARP from the Texas School for the Blind and Visually Impaired. We meet here:http://g.co/maps/w8ffp. Be there on time. These kids are on a schedule, so the later you are, the less they get to ride.

WHAT: A leisurely ride through a nice neighborhood with the kids from the school. You will have as much fun as they do. After we drop the kids back at the school, we will ride for a while and maybe grab a beer or two. This time around we will try and find a place to end up that is closer to the school.
